The time draws near!!

It's getting near to the time when we get to say goodbye to our apartment and hello to our beautiful new home! We are so excited we can hardly stand it! The time just doesn't seem to go by fast enough...

In preparation for owning our first home we have been out shopping recently for some of the necessities that we have not previously needed to own. Our own washer and dryer, a lawnmower, super soakers for the backyard, .......ok, maybe we didn't get the super soakers. Or did we? :) My wife might have to discover the answer to that question at a time when she least expects it!

One thing we decided we did need though was a crib. Our little Anna is just getting too big!! At four months she is already out growing the little bassinet in our closet! Kim decided to begin searching a little while ago. She has been searching high and low looking for a good deal. I returned from a trip to DC this past week and she had found several possibilities on Craig's List, including one "high end" crib that seemed like a pretty good deal. After seeing the price though I wasn't so sure myself...

So on Friday we took a little stroll to some local stores to get an idea of what we liked and what cribs actually cost. After seeing what it costs to get a baby bed that isn't a flimsy piece of junk, I soon came to realize that this was going to be quite the investment! I also quickly came to the conclusion that the one my wife found on Craigs List wasn't so bad after all!!
So here it is! It's a sleigh crib......which I guess means I have to buy Anna some elf pajamas to put her to bed in? :) It's actually a pretty solid piece of Pottery Barn furniture that was privately owned and never used!! The couple who had it sold us both the crib and the mattress (still in plastic!) which would have cost us close to $1350 in the stores after tax, but we managed to get it for less than half of that! Thank you dear for being such a wonderful bargain shopper!! My wallet wishes to pass along its deepest appreciation for your spendthrift ways!!

Now, I just hope Anna likes it as much as her parents do.....
