It's not too often we get a snow day in Georgia. We do see a day or two of snow every winter, but when we do see it, it usually doesn't stick. Last night we had some predicitons that we might get some accumulation, and sure enough....SNOW DAY!! Technically, its more of an ice day. As you can see in the pictures it's only about an inch or less. While some of you out west or up north may scoff at that as qualifying as a snow day, the real danger is not the snow, but the ice. Our temperatures usually hover just below freezing when the snow does come but they rise enough to let it melt and then drop enough to freeze it and keep the ice from melting. Thus, its not really an inch of snow you see, but an inch of pure ice. Couple that with the fact that people in Atlanta don't have the slightest clue how to drive in bad weather (or good weather either for that matter..), and that's enough reason to take the day off!
Anna had a blast traipsing around outside although we didn't stay out long because it was rather chilly! (Ok, now you people from out west or up north can laugh at us....). We'll enjoy looking at it while it lasts though! It's especially nice since it's Friday and we get a long weekend out of it!
