I am not ashamed!

I'm sure each of us has our own little indulgences.....mine happens to be my favorite movie. The Karate Kid. Part 1. Only. Not Part 2 or Part 3 or The Next Karate Kid (the one with Hillary Swank). It's a movie I've loved ever since I was a little kid, but recently it's become a little more special. It's kind of mimicked my life in the past few years. Guy moves from the east coast to the west coast, deals with a few problems, meets and ends up with the girl of his dreams, and lives happily ever after (until the bad sequels come out).

I think I've forced Kim to watch it with me at least 25 times since we got married. Sometimes 2-3 times in the same week. So, I felt compelled last week on our visit to California, as we were driving out to meet some friends in Reseda, to show Kim where the magic happened. That's right. I took her to see where Danielson lived in the movie! Call me weird. Call me a geek, a nerd, whatever. We we're passing within a block of it so I don't see it as too overvly obsessive. It's not like I planned a day trip to go do it. Anyway, here's some pics!

This is where you see him pull up to his new digs when they first get to California and where Daniel meets Freddy who invites him to the beach party. If you look closely you can see the pool, the stairs up to the apartment, and in the back corner on the second floor is Apt. 20. Home of the LaRussos!!

This is the back alley. They actually built in Miyagi's little room just for the movie. It would have been right there where the first drive under is. The dumpster is pretty spot on though to where Daniel ditched his bike!!

Anyway, just a little nostalgia I wanted to share. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has these awkward obsessions. Tell us what yours are!!!

I knew my kids loved you for a reason! The Karate Kid is their favorite movie right now. We saw it on TV when we were in Florida in May and they begged me to get the DVD. We have probably watched it 10 times or more since then. They will be jealous that you all drove past his apartment.

This is hilarious that you went there. Every time I am driving past Reseda I think about doing this, but I never do. I'm glad you took pictures.
